What the lamp needs from your network.
Band
2.4 GHz. The lamp does not use 5 GHz. On a router that presents both under one name this is handled automatically.
Security
WPA2 or WPA3. Open networks and captive portals — hotels, offices, student halls — will not work.
Range
Roughly what a phone manages in the same spot. If your phone struggles where the lamp stands, the lamp will too.
